Folder 1. Archivist note: All items in folder 1 were donated by Robert Slocum in 2016. Item 1, State of South Dakota Constitutional Bearer Bond number 44 value $1,000 from Seaboard National Bank, New York City. Item 2, State of South Dakota Constitutional Bond number 76 for $1,000 from Seaboard National Bank, New York City. Item 3, Territory of Dakota refunding bond number 8 for $500 from Chemical National Bank, New York City. Item 4, Territory of Dakota, School of Mines bond number 39 for $500 from Chemical National Bank, New York City.
Folder 2. Three handwritten letters dated 1890 written from E.M. Reeves of Rapid City, to R.F. Ken of Brookings, SD on the letterhead of G.S. Clevenger, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Rapid City. The object of the letters is to inform Mr. Ken of the growth and prosperity of Rapid City and the potential for investment in land and home properties. Mr. Reeves had lots, houses and land claims for sale. There is no indication of whether Mr. Ken bought or not.
